Blackpink member Lisa and Spanish singer-songwriter Rosalia’s latest music video for the single New Woman has garnered over 24 million views on YouTube in 24 hours.
Directed by Dave Meyers, the two-minute-twelve-second video offers an abstract, high-octane experience, featuring rapid-fire verses about walking through fire to emerge as a 'new woman' with a 'revved-up aura'.
Lisa confidently croons in the catchy chorus — “Hit it when I serve, B—-, you better swerve, Revving up my, uh-uh-uh-uh-aura, Focus on my mind, Taking my time, I’m a new woman.”
“I was born pure, There won’t be a flop era in my future, I’m Rosalia, I only know how to serve,” read the English translation of some of the Spanish lyrics.
The music video marks the second project of Lisa’s record label company LLOUD after its debut project Rockstar, released on June 28.
Lisa made history as the first female solo artist to win the best K-pop artist title at the MTV Video Music Awards in 2022 for her music video Lalisa. She released her debut single album Lalisa in September 2021, becoming the first female K-pop artist to sell 7,36,000 records in its first week in South Korea.
All the members of Blackpink — Lisa, Jennie, Rose and Jisoo — last appeared together in the music video of their 2022 single Shut Down, which went on to top the Billboard Global 200.
