Aaron Paul walks through a space station and Salma Hayek is seen talking to someone with eerie music playing in the background in the new teaser for Charlie Brooker’s gritty sci-fi thriller series Black Mirror, which will stream on Netflix from June this year.

Dropped on April 26, the one-minute-28-second teaser also shows Paapa Essiedu decked up in a furry white jumpsuit and Anjana Vasan's character smashing a woman's head into a glass display case in the teaser trailer, which promises more violence and surprises in the latest season.

Black Mirror episodes have always been standalone since it is an anthology series. The episodes, however, have more than often used Easter eggs to refer to elements from previous episodes or upcoming ones. The addition of Aaron Paul in Season 6 could be a continuation of the first episode from Season 4, where he was the voice of Gamer691. Reprising the role for a continuation would mark the first time that Black Mirror has done a direct follow-up.

“The sixth season of Black Mirror is the most unpredictable, unclassifiable and unexpected yet,” reads the logline of the show.

Black Mirror last premiered in 2019 with three standalone episodes — Striking Vipers, Smithereens and Rachel, Jack and Ashley Too. The series was renewed in May 2022.

Annie Murphy, Ben Barnes, Michael Cera and Zazie Beetz are among the several celebrities roped in for Season 6. The makers already revealed that the new season will have more episodes than the previous one, with each episode being more than an hour each.
