While Billie Eilish dropped her new album Hit Me Hard and Soft on Friday, Miley Cyrus offered a rendition of the rock band Talking Heads’ 1977 hit Psychokiller. Besides these, One Direction star Zayn Malik’s fourth studio album Room Under the Stairs and Kate Hudson’s debut album Glorious also released this week.

“Dude HIT ME HARD AND SOFT my third album is out now I don’t even know what to SAAYY... @finneas and I put so much into this album and have never ever ever loved something more,” Billie wrote on Instagram on Friday following the release of her third studio album Hit Me Hard and Soft.

The Bad Guy singer shared a video featuring her brother and collaborator Finneas. The brother-sister duo can be seen sitting inside their recording studio and waiting for the release of the album.

Billie’s album consists of 10 songs including the tracks Skinny, Lunch, Chihiro, Birds of a Feather, Wildflower, The Greatest, L'aMour De Ma Vie, The Diner, Bittersuite and Blue. The song Birds of a Feather was recently teased in a clip from the upcoming third season of the Netflix teen comedy Heartstopper.

Miley, who recently bagged her first Grammy for her song Flowers in the best pop solo performance category this year, dropped her rendition of Talking Heads’ Psychokiller on Friday.

The Wrecking Ball singer previously performed the song live at Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles in November last year. Miley’s cover is part of A24’s compilation album Everyone’s Getting Involved: A Tribute To Talking Heads’ Stop Making Sense, which consists of 16 tracks.

Paramore, Lorde, Girl in Red and Teezo Touchdown’s covers of songs like Burning Down the House, Take Me to the River, Girlfriend Is Better and Making Flippy Floppy were dropped prior to the album’s release.

Zayn, who was one of the members of the English boy band One Direction, dropped his fourth studio album Room Under the Stairs on Friday. He had previously released his single titled Love Like This in July last year. While promoting his new album on Apple’s The Zane Lowe Show, the Pillowtalk singer opened up about how he was inspired by his three-year-old daughter Khai, whom he shares with his ex-girlfriend Gigi Hadid.

“ROOM UNDER THE STAIRS is out now everywhere. Thank you for all your unwavering love and support. I hope you love this record just as much as I loved creating it,” the One Direction star wrote on Instagram.

Zayn’s album comprises 15 tracks — including songs titled Dreamin, What I Am, Alienated and How It Feels — which aim to give a personal insight into the singer’s life.

Hudson made her singing debut with her first album Glorious on Friday. The How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days star’s album has 12 songs, each exploring different styles ranging from ’80s synth-pop to acoustic folk, blues to rock.

Most of Hudson’s songs, which explore various forms of relationships, were written within a period of 2 weeks. The actress has been writing songs ever since she was 19 but it wasn’t until the Covid-19 pandemic that she wanted to release an album.

“It’s OUT!!!! Ah!!! Hope you love it. From me to youuuuuuuuuu GLORIOUS out everywhere,” she wrote alongside a video of her celebrating the release of her album with her friends.

Gonna Find Out, Fire, The Nineties, Live Forever, Talk about Love and Love Ain’t Easy are some of the tracks in Hudson’s album.
