Actress Jiya Shankar was evicted from the Bigg Boss OTT 2 house on Wednesday after receiving the lowest number of votes in a mid-week eviction on the Salman Khan-hosted reality show, streaming on JioCinema.
Jiya was nominated for elimination alongside Manisha Rani and Elvish Yadav. With Jiya’s elimination, Elvish, Manisha, Abhishek Malhan, Bebika Dhurve and Pooja Bhatt have emerged as the top 5 finalists of the show.
Jiya’s eviction occurred following a task assigned by Bigg Boss, in which contestants were asked to revisit memorable moments from the season. A large calendar of memories was placed in the garden area, and Bebika was asked to flip through its pages. The calendar showcased photographs spanning from the season's premiere to the finale week.
Soon after, Bigg Boss announced that the final page of the calendar would display the image of the contestant who was to be evicted that day. When the time came to turn the last page, Abhishek volunteered and revealed Jiya's photo. Following the announcement of her departure, Abhishek, Jiya’s close friend, became emotional and they shared a heartfelt embrace before Jiya walked out of the house.
The grand finale of the Bigg Boss OTT 2 is slated to take place on August 14.
