Actress Jiya Shankar has found herself in the crosshairs of other housemates on reality show Bigg Boss OTT 2 for allegedly being a bully and not being considerate towards her fellow contestants.

After replacing YouTuber Abhishek Malhan as the captain of the house, Jiya was criticised for her partisan approach on the Salman Khan-hosted show, streaming on JioCinema.

Jiya got into an argument with Manisha Rani regarding the latter’s sleeping arrangements after the latter expressed her desire to sleep outside the bedroom because of the air conditioning. Jiya refused to grant permission to Manisha, inviting criticism from Abhishek and Bebika Dhurve. Cyrus Broacha accused Jiya of targeting Manisha for no valid reason and labelled her as a “bully”.

Later, a ration task was assigned in which Jiya was responsible for distributing ration among the contestants. She was also instructed to select a contestant who repeatedly violated the rules and to put them in jail without providing any ration.

Jiya decided to put Manisha in jail, which also sparked outrage among the housemates.

Bigg Boss gave the housemates an opportunity to dislodge Jiya from captaincy. He gave them a ‘satta palat’ task wherein Jiya had to sit on a chair for three hours to secure her position as captain. Bigg Boss mandated that she couldn't hide her face or body, while other housemates were allowed to do anything to provoke her in order to make her leave the chair. The task began, and the housemates devised strategies to weaken her mentally and physically throughout the challenge.

From the very beginning, only three players were actively participating in the task — Abhishek, Manisha and Bebika. Abhishek tried to scare Jiya with a fake lizard while Manisha placed dirty napkins on her. Bebika tried to undermine Jiya's confidence through verbal attacks, referring to her as a "dumb, evil captain”.

When these attempts didn’t bear fruit, Bebika sprinkled different spices on Jiya's face. Avinash, who was inactive throughout the task, came to Jiya’s rescue at this point and poured a bucket of water on her so she could clean herself. This action provoked furious reactions from the housemates, as they believed their efforts were being wasted.

Jad Hadid refused to participate in the task, calling it "disgusting”. Falaq Naaz chose not to participate at all, stating, "I can't harm her. I don't want such a captaincy."

Jiya remained steadfast and demonstrated her resilience. At the end of the task, Bigg Boss reprimanded the housemates for taking the task lightly and not performing in the challenge.
