Television actress-model Sreejita De, who recently got evicted from Salman Khan-hosted reality show Bigg Boss 16, has had her share of bittersweet moments on the Colors TV show. Following her exit from the show, Sreejita opened up about her experiences, clashes with co-contestants and future plans.
What do you have to say about your equation with Tina Datta now?
Sreejita De: See, I didn't want to be cordial with her. My whole point is that I don’t want to purposely get into a fight with her. That's not my nature. Instead, it's her nature to talk behind people’s backs and create a fake image of someone. I don't have a good experience with her. Whatever she said or did, none of it was unexpected.
What are your wedding plans with Michael? Do you think Bigg Boss will open new doors for you as an actor?
Sreejita De: I think it is too soon to say anything about that. If I had the opportunity to stay in that house for a couple of more days, things would have been different. But Bigg Boss, as I said, is a huge reality show. I am very honored to be a part of it and be on the show for 14 days. Talking about the wedding, Michael and I are planning to get hitched next year.
Manya called you a TV actor and that statement drew flak. How do you reflect on the fact that people in the industry give such tags to actors?
Sreejita De: I didn't react much. I just said, “Mujhe zaroori bhi nahin lagta ke iss sawaal ka main tujhe jawab doon. (I don’t think it is important to answer your question).” I think everyone has worked hard and reached a position and that should be respected. You can't compare anyone’s hard work or talent. You earned a title that one might have earned in some other year. But being overconfident and blowing your own trumpet about it, that's wrong. Instead, we should push each to do better.
What do you think went wrong? Do you hold someone responsible for your eviction?
Sreejita De: I hold nobody responsible for my eviction. But I would like to ask Big Boss why I did not get a chance to clarify things. Eviction is a huge thing and the word I said on the show was perceived in a wrong way. I don't think that word was so big that I got such a huge punishment. That word had been used by several people in the past seasons in harsh manners. What I meant when I used the word “standard” had nothing to do with a person’s background. It was about her indecent gestures. I am not justifying myself, but I swear that’s exactly what I meant.
