Netflix has dropped the names of a slew of animated films and shows that will be available to the streamer in 2025. From Big Mouth Season 8 to a Hotel Transylvania spin-off series, an exciting lineup of buddy comedy, adventure epic fantasy and Japanese anime are in store for you next year. Here’s a look.
In Your Dreams (film)
Directed by Alex Woo, the voice cast of In Your Dreams includes Simu Liu and Craig Robinson. Twelve-year-old Stevie and her little brother embark on an adventure into the absurd landscape of their dreams in the hope of finding a perfect family to live with. Unless the siblings can survive after their encounters with a stuffed giraffe, zombies and the queen of nightmares, the Sandman — a mythical creature who sprinkles sand into the eyes of children at night to make them dream— would not fulfil their dream.
Plankton: The Movie (film)
Based on the series SpongeBob SquarePants, Plankton: The Movie will show the green planktonic copepod Plankton’s world turn upside down after his plans of taking over the world are thwarted.
Pookoo (film)
Pookoo is a fresh buddy comedy about two unusual friends — a small woodland creature and a gigantic yellow bird — who set off on a thrilling adventure.
The Twits (film)
Mr and Mrs Twit, the most disgusting people around, run Twitlandia, the world’s most idiotic and dangerous amusement park. But when they gain power in their town, two brave orphans and a family of magical animals must outwit them to save the city. Natalie Portman, Emilia Clarke, Margo Martindale and Johnny Vegas have lent their voices to the characters.
Leviathan (anime)
Based on Leviathan by Scott Westerfeld, Leviathan follows a runaway prince and a disguised girl who meet on the bioengineered airship HMS Leviathan just before the beginning of World War I.
Big Mouth S8 (series)
Exploring the awkwardness and challenges of adolescence, the Emmy-winning adult animated comedy series follows a group of teenagers who navigate puberty and their sexuality with the help of their personified hormones. The final season of the series is slated to release in 2025.
Motel Transylvania (series)
In Motel Transylvania, a spin-off of the beloved animated film franchise Hotel Transylvania, Drac and Mavis take a break from their Transylvanian haunts to open a resort for humans and monsters in the California desert. “Vampires and sunshine … what can go wrong!? Motel Transylvania will be coming to Netflix next year,” reads a snippet from Netflix’s official synopsis of the series.
Wolf King (series)
Based on the Wereworld books by Curtis Jobling, the epic fantasy adventure series is about Drew Ferran, who learns he is the last of a long line of the Werewolves. As his elders deem him to be the rightful ruler of a land governed by Werelords, Drew is hesitant to take the responsibility on his shoulders. However, what persuades him is a strong desire to overthrow the tyrannical Lion lords for the betterment of the land.
