Film-maker Tathagata Mukherjee has wrapped up the shoot of his new film Gaki. Bibriti Chatterjee plays the lead who goes to Spiti Valley. Anirban Chakraborti plays a Buddhist monk while Ambarish Bhattacharya plays a police officer.
Produced by Dreams on Sale and directed by Tathagata Mukherjee, Gaki is a tale of a hungry ghost. For the first time, a Bengali film was majorly shot in Spiti Valley, Himachal Pradesh.
Speaking about the concept of the film, Tathagata says, “Our fears are our weaknesses, our guilt. And that’s where Gaki enters. Gaki wants to swallow up human emotions like desire, greed. Throughout the movie we see images of a few self-centred people who manipulate others to serve their own interest. Eventually, Gaki comes to Calcutta and becomes a nemesis in the lives of modern people.”
