Filming for Kartik Aaryan-starrer Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 is set to commence in March, production company T-Series announced on Friday, sharing a candid picture of Kartik in conversation with director Anees Bazmee and producer Bhushan Kumar.
“The third installment of your favourite horror-comedy franchise is set to go on floors this March,” wrote the production house on Instagram alongside the picture.
The announcement elicited enthusiastic responses from fans. “Rooh Baba Back soon,” commented a social media user, while many fans hoped for Akshay Kumar’s return to the franchise.
Kartik, who also appeared in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, will reportedly reprise his role as Rooh Baba in the third instalment.
Also featuring Kiara Advani and Tabu in important roles, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 revolved around an entrapped spirit seeking revenge. Helmed by Anees Bazmee, the film emerged as one of the highest grossing hits of 2022.
The first instalment of the Bhool Bhulaiyaa franchise dealt with a woman, Avni Chaturvedi (portrayed by Vidya Balan), suffering from dissociative identity disorder. In the 2007 blockbuster, Vidya shared screen space with Akshay Kumar, Shiney Ahuja, Ameesha Patel and Paresh Rawal.
