After a bumper Diwali weekend at the box office, Ajay Devgn’s Singham Again and Kartik Aaryan-starrer Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 cleared the crucial Monday test, earning Rs. 17.5 crore each in India, according to latest trade reports.
Both films attracted large audiences and showed impressive performances over the weekend and into Monday, with Rohit Shetty’s Singham Again emerging as the stronger contender in a close contest with Anees Bazmee’s Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3.
According to industry data-tracking portal Sacnilk, Singham Again raced ahead on its opening day, pulling in an impressive Rs 43.5 crore nett at the box office, eclipsing Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, which brought in Rs 35.5 crore nett. This early edge could be attributed to Singham Again having approximately 13,000 shows compared to Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’s 9,000 shows.
On its second day, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 managed to boost its earnings slightly, growing by 4.23 per cent to reach Rs 37 crore nett. Meanwhile, Singham Again saw a minor dip in earnings, with collections slipping by 2.30 per cent to Rs 42.5 crore nett.
However, both the films witnessed a drop in collection on Sunday. Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 saw a decrease of 9.46 per cent in earnings, ending the day with Rs 33.5 crore nett. Singham Again experienced a sharper decline of 15.88 per cent, collecting Rs 35.75 crore nett.
Both the films passed the Monday test, earning an identical Rs 17.5 crore nett. By the end of the four-day stretch, Singham Again has amassed Rs 139.25 crore nett at the domestic box office, while Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 has raked in Rs 123.50 crore nett.
Rohit Shetty’s cop universe film features Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar and Ranveer Singh reprising their roles as Singham, Sooryavanshi and Simmba, respectively. Kareena Kapoor Khan appears as Singham’s wife Avni alongside Deepika Padukone’s Lady Singham and Tiger Shroff’s ACP Satya. Arjun Kapoor plays the villain in the movie.
Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 features Kartik Aaryan as Rooh Baba alongside Vidya Balan, Madhuri Dixit and Triptii Dimri.
