Beyoncé surprised her fans with a new single, My House, following the release of her Renaissance World Tour concert film on Friday.

Unexpectedly released as a single after playing over the end credits of the Renaissance movie, the four-minute-22-second-long track conveys the message of self-love, asking everyone to heal their “house”— a metaphor for home, community and life — through its gangsta rap and self-validating verses. The bold, beat-switching song begins with the American singer-songwriter’s iconic laugh before she is heard saying, “Here we go,” paving the way for a fiery rap sequence that asks people spreading negativity to get out of her house.

Co-produced by Beyonce and The-Dream, My House contains a chant section, where every line ends with the word “house”, as well as a spoken-word section, employing stammering beats and beat switches midway through the song.

Beyonce’s Renaissance concert film brings together her live performances and behind-the-scenes footage from the groundbreaking tour, which took off on May 10 this year in Sweden and ended on October 1.
