A good part of of Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives hinges on the domestic scene in the lives of the four leading ladies and, so, Samir Soni, Sanjay Kapoor and Chunky Panday — the husbands of Neelam Kothari, Maheep Kapoor and Bhavana Pandey, respectively — have more screen time in Season 2. Sohail Khan does not return for the second season after his divorce from Seema Sajdeh.
Of the three spouses who appear, the one that takes the cake is Chunky. He lets his goofy side take over from get go. Chunky is the life of the party at the dinners with the rest of the leading ladies and their spouses. And he’s also on board with Bhavana’s idea of having a second wedding to renew their vows.
Chunky delivers a heartwarming speech at his second wedding with Bhavana in the final episode and his passionate display of affection for his wife of 24 years makes him the most fun of the spouses too.
Nirvan Khan: The star kid you’ll grow fond of
Seema, Maheep and Bhavana’s children are heavily featured, with actresses Ananya Panday and Shanaya Kapoor more glamour to their mothers’ show.
However, the star kid who draws attention, despite the presence of more popular ones, is Seema and Sohail’s son, Nirvan. In his brief appearance, Nirvan has a deep conversation with his mother over their family splitting up. He initially opposes his mother for removing the ‘Khan’ nameplate from outside their home but accepts it eventually and appears to be at peace with it.
The other children have their moments as well. Maheep is rapped by her family for asking her son, Jahaan, to learn Hindi, while not being fluent in the language herself. Rysa Panday joins forces with elder sister Ananya to cringe at their parents’ romantic displays.
Arjun Kapoor: The go-to family member for advice
Among the members of the extended families of the Bollywood wives, Arjun Kapoor once again has the meatiest role to play as Maheep’s go-to advisor. Just like in Season 1, Maheep asks Arjun to drop by to have a word with her daughter, Shanaya. Arjun arranges a private screening of Shanaya’s showreel as a surprise for her birthday, before offering some showbiz advice to the actress who is gearing up for her Bollywood debut.
