Former England footballer David Beckham’s career and life, right from his ability to hit the back of the net with curling freekicks to his fairytale marriage with ‘Posh Spice’ of the British girl band Spice Girls, gets highlighted in the teaser of Netflix’s BECKHAM documentary series.

Dropped by Netflix on Tuesday, the two-minute-43-second trailer begins with pictures and video footage from the playing days of Beckham. “Tonight, we bring you the story of how David Beckham became a global phenomenon,” a voiceover narrates, showcasing how the young footballer became a global celebrity while playing for Manchester United. The trailer also gives a glimpse of all the controversies surrounding Beckham, apart from providing a few snippets of Beckham and his wife Victoria’s exclusive interviews. It goes on to show how Beckham’s high-profile love affair with Victoria, then known as ‘Posh Spice’, grabbed the eyeballs of British media, lifting him onto a higher plane than a mere footballer. The trailer also promises never-before-seen personal archive footage as well as interviews with the family, friends and footballing figures who have been part of Beckham’s journey.
