Star Jalsha’s new show maps the journey of Indira who aspires to become a teacher in an English medium school

Star Jalsha’s new show Bangla Medium is all about Indira, and her journey to fulfill her dreams and aspirations of becoming a teacher in an English medium school, challenging age-old societal norms.She hails from a remote village of Katwa and has done her education from Bongo Binodini Balika Bidyalay, and she has proved her worth to be an excellent science teacher in her village. Known for her creative, out-of-the box ways of teaching her students, she dreams of taking her knowledge to a much larger pool of students and eventually gets a job offer from one of the top English medium schools in Calcutta.While attending her interview session, Indira gets to meet Bikram, who runs the school with assistance from Suhana, Bikram’s sister. Here she gets the shock of her life and faces humiliation for her Bengali medium background. Indira is played by Tiyasha Roy (far left) while Bikram is played by Neel Bhattacharya. Suhana is played by Sampurna Lahiri (left).

Bangla Medium airs from Monday to Sunday at 8pm only on Star Jalsha.
