Bandish Bandits Season 2 to premiere on Prime Video in December

Starring Ritwik Bhowmik and Shreya Chaudhry, first season of the musical drama released in August 2020

Season 2 of musical drama series Bandish Bandits, starring Ritwik Bhowmik and Shreya Chaudhry, will stream on Prime Video from December 13, the streaming platform announced on Wednesday.

“ DRUMROLLSSSSSSSSSS your favorite Bandish Bandits are tuning in for a new season #BandishBanditsOnPrime, Dec 13,” the streaming platform wrote on Instagram alongside a poster.

The poster shows Ritwik and Shreya standing face-to-face under a spotlight on a dark blue stage. Their serious expressions create a sense of drama and tension, building excitement and anticipation for the new season of the show.

Directed by Anand Tiwari and co-created by Amritpal Singh Bhandari, the series will see the return of Sheeba Chaddha, Atul Kulkarni, Rajesh Tailang and Kunaal Roy Kapur. Produced by Leo Media Collective Private Limited, they will be joined by Divya Dutta, Rohan Gurbaxani, Yashaswini Dayama, Aaliyah Qureshi and Saurabh Nayyar.

The show broke new ground as the first Indian musical series, gaining attention for its deep dive into Indian classical music and unique portrayal of the art form. Songs like Sajan Bin, Chedkhaniyan and Lab Par Aaye were particularly praised for their blend of classical and contemporary styles, making the soundtrack a standout. The first season of the show was released in August 2020.

Fans flooded the comments section with their excitement. “My favourite show with my favourite people,” one of them wrote. “Can 13th December Be Here Already????,” wrote another.

Shreya Chaudhry was last seen in Boman Irani’s family drama The Mehta Boys alongside Avinash Tiwari and Puja Sarup. Ritwik Bhowmik, on the other hand, was last seen in Sharanya Rajgopal’s TV mini series Butterflies.

Anand Tiwari’s recent directorial Bad Newz is a comedy film released on July 19 and stars Vicky Kaushal, Triptii Dimri and Ammy Virk in the lead roles.
