Gang wars, bloodshed and the dark underbelly of 1970s’ Bombay come to life in the trailer of Kay Kay Menon and Avinash Tiwary-starrer crime thriller series Bambai Meri Jaan, dropped by Amazon Prime Video on Monday.

Menon’s honest cop and his son Dara — a “misguided” youth drawn towards the ways of the underworld — take the centre stage as the latter embarks on a mission to take on the underworld big guns in the Shujaat Saudagar-helmed show.

The almost three-minute-long trailer begins with Menon’s voiceover, “In the nature of the Universe, evil begins from good. Even the Devil was his own creation. I am merely a father.”

The clip then shows glimpses of gunshots, corruption, crimes and chaos in the streets of Bombay in the 1960s.

The trailer shows Menon’s cop fighting against the gangs of the city while trying to educate his children. However, his son Dara (Avinash Tiwary) sets out to conquer Bambai as a ruthless gangster. The video shows Dara’s rise to power from a naughty teenager to becoming an ambitious criminal as an adult.

The trailer follows Dara as he begins working as a local goon for a don but soon gets embroiled in the web of the underworld after burning a gym. We see Kritika Kamra’s character work as an advisor for Dara in his conquest of Bambai while Menon tries his best to bring his son back from the dark side.
