The makers of the historical film Bagha Jatin have dropped a trailer, giving us a peek into the freedom fighter’s extraordinary resistance to the British rulers.

The film starring Dev as Jatindranath Mukherjee, aka Bagha Jatin, highlights his fearless spirit and unwavering determination to free his homeland of its colonisers. The trailer shows the young freedom fighter taking a tiger head on without any firearms, which earned him the moniker Bagha Jatin, and making personal sacrifices for the sake of his homeland.

“Bagha Jatin is our Durga Puja bonanza for every Indian. Jatindranath Mukherjee, who was popularly known as Bagha Jatin, is an inspiration for all. The film is going to bring to life his thrilling journey and the story has been told on a huge canvas in an extraordinary way,” said Dev, who is also the producer of the film.

“The story captures the spirit of India’s struggle for freedom, and Dev and the actors have done absolute justice to their roles. The film aims to entertain as well as highlight the rich culture and history of our country,” added director Arun Roy.

The cast of Bagha Jatin includes Sudipta Chakraborty, Samiul Alam and Sreeja Dutta. The film is scheduled for release on October 19.
