Indian rapper Badshah will replace Kumar Sanu to join Shreya Ghoshal and Vishal Dadlani on the judges’ panel in Season 15 of Sony Entertainment Television’s reality singing show Indian Idol, announced the TV channel on Friday.
“Ish yo boy Badshah on #IndianIdol,” the channel wrote on Instagram, sharing a promo clip featuring the rapper.
The previous season of Indian Idol was hosted by actor Hussain Kuwajerwala, with Kumar Sanu, Shreya Ghoshal and Vishal Dadlani serving as judges. Vaibhav Gupta was crowned the winner, while Subhadeep Das Chowdhury became the first runner-up. This year, however, Aditya Narayan, will be hosting the show.
Previously, singer Shreya Ghoshal announced that auditions for Season 15 of the Indian Idol are set to begin in cities across India. Revealing that the auditions for the singing reality show would soon start in various Indian cities, the 40-year-old singer encouraged aspiring singers to attend the auditions.
The popular singing reality show on Sony Entertainment Television is the Indian adaptation of the British show Pop Idol.
On the work front, Badshah released his new album Ek Tha Raja in March. He collaborated with Arijit Singh, MC Stan, Karan Aujla, Nora Fatehi, and Seedhe Maut on that album. He also lent his voice to Gore Gore Mukhde Pe (Ishq Vishk Rebound) and Naina (Crew) this year.
