Bad Newz: Vicky Kaushal and Triptii Dimri-starrer romantic comedy earns Rs 30 crore in India in three days

Helmed by Anand Tiwari, the romantic comedy also features Ammy Virk, Neha Dhupia and Sheeba Chadha in key roles

Bad Newz starring Vicky Kaushal, Triptii Dimri and Ammy Virk has earned Rs 30.62 crore nett in three days, becoming the fifth-highest opening-weekend grosser among Hindi films in 2024, as per production banner Dharma Productions.

Hrithik Roshan-starrer Fighter tops the list with a collection of Rs 90.3 crore nett, followed by the Hindi version of Kalki 2898 AD with Rs 72.5 crore nett. Ajay Devgn’s Shaitaan, which earned Rs 54 crore nett in the first three days, is next on the list.

Anand Tiwari’-helmed romantic comedy is right behind Akshay Kumar, Tiger Shroff-starrer Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, which earned Rs 33.07 crore nett in first three days of theatrical run.

Bad Newz is currently facing competition at the box office from Nag Ashwin’s sci-fi epic Kalki 2898 AD, which earned Rs 17.4 crore nett across languages in its fourth weekend in theatres. The total domestic earnings of the dystopian thriller now stand at 616.85 crore nett.

Kalki 2898 AD is currently just Rs 25 crore nett short of surpassing Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Jawan’s lifetime domestic earning of Rs 640 crore.

Meanwhile, Kamal Haasan’s Indian 2 and Akshay Kumar-starrer Sarfira continued to underperform at the domestic box office in the second weekend. While Shankar’s action drama has minted Rs 75.48 crore nett in India so far, Sudha Kongara’s drama has collected Rs 21.25 crore nett.
