Bad Cop teaser: Gulshan Devaiah’s fierce cop faces off against Anurag Kashyap in Disney+ Hotstar thriller series

Gulshan Devaiah’s fierce cop hunts down Anurag Kashyap’s menacing villain in the teaser of Disney+ Hotstar’s upcoming thriller series Bad Cop, dropped by the streamers on Friday.

Introducing Kashyap’s character Kazbe as a goon who wields enormous influence, the teaser shows how he forces a man to sing The ABC Song for children to make fun of him in front of his men. As soon as he notices someone outside the window, Kazbe asks the man to name a word starting with the letter K as he wants to hear his own name to feel his power.

Next, we see Devaiah’s police inspector Karan entering the fray and chasing down Kazbe. The teaser also hints that Devaiah could play a double role in the series, bringing about a thrilling twist to the plot.

“‘K’ for ‘Kazbe’ (scoundrel). ‘K’ for ‘Kamina’ (rascal). ‘K’ for ‘Coming Soon’,” reads the description of the teaser shared on YouTube.

Directed by Aditya Datt, Bad Cop is adapted from the 2017 German show Bad Cop: Kriminell Gut that follows twin brothers Jesko and Jan.While Jesko is a successful police inspector, Jan is a hardened criminal. The story comes up with an exciting twist when Jesko dies following a police operation and Jan assumes his brother’s identity to save himself.

Bad Cop marks the fiction series debut for production house Fremantle India, known for backing reality TV shows like India’s Got Talent and Indian Idol. The series is directed by Bambai Meri Jaan helmer Rensil D’Silva.

However, the release date for the series has not been announced yet.
