Actor Babil Khan shared pictures of his parents, late actor Irrfan Khan and writer Sutapa Sikdar, to mark Mother’s Day on Sunday. The 25-year-old also penned a note for his mum, acknowledging the need to appreciate and celebrate the hard work and dedication of mothers every day.

Highlighting how his mother has played a pivotal role in shaping their family, Babil wrote, “There would have been no Irrfan without Sutapa Sikdar. There would have been no Ayaan without Sutapa Sikdar. There would be no Babil if it wasn’t for Sutapa Sikdar. Everyday is Mother’s Day.”

One of the two pictures Babil shared shows Sutapa posing with Irrfan in front of majestic hills and a vast ocean. Another picture shows them enjoying a boat ride.

Sutapa reacted to the post, encouraging Babil to stay true to himself despite societal pressures. “And we won’t change because of anyone�� . I take this special day’s advantage to promise me you won’t ever change!! Be the man you are who has recognised the yin and yang and has a perfect balance of both. That you won’t change to what is happening in the society, a slow poisoning to propagate a complete wrong definition how a ‘ MAN ‘should behave...dress... Speak,” read her comment on Babil’s post.

Babil, who has a younger brother Ayaan Khan, initially started his career as a camera assistant. He later made his acting debut with Qala in 2022. Babil has also starred in the Netflix miniseries The Railway Men alongside R. Madhavan, Kay Kay Menon and Divyenndu.
