Dream Girl 2 emerged as the seventh-highest opening weekend grosser among Hindi movies released in 2023 as the Ayushmann Khurrana-starrer minted Rs 40.96 crore in its first three days at theatres.
The Raaj Shaandilyaa-helmed romantic comedy, also starring Ananya Panday, minted Rs 10.69 crore nett on Day 1, followed by Rs 30.27 crore nett on Saturday and Sunday, according to Box Office India.
Topping the list of highest opening weekend grossers in 2023 is Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan (Rs 161 crore nett) followed by Sunny Deol-starrer Gadar 2 (Rs 135 crore nett), Prabhas-starrer Adipurush (Rs 112 crore nett). The next films on the list are Salman Khan’s Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan (Rs 69 crore nett), Ranveer Singh-Alia Bhatt-starrer Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani (Rs 46 crore nett) and Akshay Kumar’s OMG 2 (Rs 43 crore nett).
Alongside Ayushmann and Ananya, Dream Girl 2 also features Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav, Asrani, Seema Pahwa, Vijay Raaz, Manjot Singh, Abhishek Banerjee, Ranjan Raj, Manoj Joshi and Annu Kapoor in key roles.
On the other hand, Nushratt Bharuccha-starrer Akelli, which released on August 25 alongside Dream Girl 2, bombed at the box office, minting a meagre Rs 0.80 crore nett in three days.
