Actor Ayushmann Khurrana has started shooting for upcoming horror-comedy film Thama, the latest addition to Maddock Supernatural Universe, he announced on social media on Wednesday, sharing behind-the-scenes pictures.
The actor shared messages he received from Maddock Film’s head Dinesh Vijan and the crew members on his Instagram stories.
“Dear Ayushmann, It’s fang-tastic to have you on board Maddock’s horror comedy universe. Who better than ‘Ayushmann’ to play the ‘un-dead’ THAMA? We believe this is a role you will love to sink your teeth into! Best Wishes, DV,” reads the message Dinesh wrote, welcoming Ayushmann on board.
“Good Morning Sir, Yeah!! Finally its Thama Day..We are so excited to start this Thama Journey with you..Hope you have a great first day with us..Let’s make bloody good memories,” a crew member wrote.
Directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, the film will feature Rashmika Mandanna, Paresh Rawal and Nawazuddin Siddiqui in key roles.
Ayushmann also shared a poster from the upcoming film on his Instagram story.
In the poster, Ayushmann sports a brown double-breasted long coat worn over a black shirt and blue denim. The background features werewolves, bats and a full moon, hints at a supernatural movie.
“A determined historian, sifts through old manuscripts, seeking clues about the mysterious legends of vampires in Vijay Nagar,” reads the synopsis on IMDb.
Penned by Niren Bhatt along with Suresh Mathew and Arun Fulara and produced by Amar Kaushik, the film is slated to hit theatres on Diwali 2025.
Ayushmann was last seen in Raaj Shaandilyaa’s Dream Girl 2.
