Ashutosh Mukhopadhyay's acclaimed literary work Jaar Jetha Ghar is the new series for Sahityer Shera Somoy. The story highlights the society of the 1970s with the various challenges it used to impose on ordinary people. It reveals the complexities of human relationships, inner corruption, family conspiracies, the challenges of love and the diverse shades of a woman’s psychology.
“Reviving the classic, vintage tales from the treasure trove of Bengali literature is undoubtedly a challenging task, especially when the generation is focused on the glamour of technology. The team of Sahityer Shera Somoy has wonderfully brought five back-to-back hit shows. Now, with the introduction of Jaar Jetha Ghar, it is a testament to our commitment of continuing to introduce high-quality and engaging content for the viewers. We believe that the interesting characters in the new series and the poignant storyline will resonate deeply with our viewers. We hope that Jaar Jetha Ghar leaves a lasting impression on our all-time viewers and we will conclude the series with optimistic responses,” said Priyanka Bardia, director, Aakash Aath.
"I feel privileged with my new on-screen journey as Sunanda Bose. It is an adaptation of a well-known literary work. As the storyline throws light on the 1970s, so resurrecting the societal cultures, costumes and individual personality of the hero with whom the audience can easily feel and establish that connection is tough but interesting. Every day is a learning experience for me," said Pranay Chandra.
"Essaying the character of Arati is an absolute pleasure for me. Arati, by nature, is an affectionate, jovial and independent person who declines to surrender to any kind of personal and social limitations. This particular character is quite unique and bears a different appeal from all the other roles which I have previously acted in," said Joyeeta Goswami.
Jaar Jetha Ghar airs on Aakash Aath, Monday to Saturday, at 7.30pm.
