Hollywood star Arnold Schwarzenegger has hinted at a possible reunion between him and his Twins co-star Danny DeVito in an Instagram post, saying he “can’t wait” to work together again, following their meeting at Broadway play I Need That on Friday.
Sharing a picture of him posing with DeVito and the latter’s daughter Lucy DeVito on the social media platform, Schwarzenegger wrote, “My brother! It was fantastic to see Danny on Broadway in “I Need That”. He and Lucy and everybody involved kept the audience entertained, laughing and loving every minute - one of the best plays I’ve ever seen, a true spectacle with heart. I can’t wait to work together again.”
The post has had fans rooting for a sequel to the Ivan Reitman-helmed 1988 buddy comedy Twins.
Schwarzenegger and DeVito starred as genetically engineered fraternal twins in the comedic blockbuster Twins which became the fifth-highest-grossing film of 1988, garnering over USD 111 million at the domestic box office. Following the commercial success of Twins, Schwarzenegger and Danny began work for a sequel titled Triplets. However, the project got shelved when director Ivan Reitman passed away in 2022.
The duo have worked together in a number of other films, including Last Action Hero, Junior and DeVito's animated horror-comedy series Little Demon.
