Set to release on June 14, Athhoi promises to offer a thought-provoking exploration of jealousy, ambition and love in today's society.

The one-minute-49-second long teaser of Athhoi opens with the chilling line, “Every individual harbours animosity towards one another,” setting the tone for a narrative that intricately weaves together themes of honesty, love and ambition.

In this adaptation, Sohini Sarkar portrays the spirited and intelligent character of Diya, reminiscent of Desdemona, while the film’s director Arna Mukhopadhyay plays the role of Dr. Athhoi Lodha, based on the character of Othello. Anirban Bhattacharya takes on the enigmatic character of Gogo, inspired from Iago in Shakespeare's original work. He also serves as the creative director of the film.

The first-look of the actors was unveiled by the makers last month.

Speaking about the upcoming film, director Arna Mukhopadhyay said, “With Athhoi, our aim is to delve deep into the complexities of human emotions and present a modern interpretation of Shakespeare's timeless tale. Through this film, we hope to engage and provoke audiences, sparking conversations about love, jealousy, and ambition in today's world.”
