Aasman Bhardwaj’s debut feature film Kuttey, frontlined by Arjun Kapoor and Radhika Madan, collected Rs 1.07 crore nett on its opening day on January 13, according to Box Office India reports.
The movie managed to fetch Rs 61 lakh across national multiplex chains on Friday. It reported a 5-7% occupancy in theatres and a slight rise in the occupancy towards the evening at urban centres.
However, Kuttey’s Day 1 collections are not at par with other action thrillers that came out during the last one year, including Ayushmann Khurrana-starrer An Action Hero, which had collected Rs 1.25 crore on the day of its release.
With an ensemble cast of Konkona Sensharma, Naseeruddin Shah, Tabu, Kumud Mishra and Shardul Bhardwaj, the caper movie has shades of the 2009 Shahid Kapoor-Priyanka Chopra-starrer Kaminey, which was helmed by Aasman’s father, Vishal Bhardwaj.
