Singer Arijit Singh has emerged as the third most followed artist on Spotify, surpassing global icons Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish and Eminem, according to music analytics platform ChartMasters.
The latest report shared by the platform mentions that Arijit has 86.3 million followers on the music streaming platform against Swift’s 83 million followers.
Currently, the first position on the list is held by Ed Sheeran, followed by Ariana Grande and Arijit Singh. Drake, Eminem and Justin Beiber hold the sixth, seventh and eighth positions, respectively. The Weeknd, Rihanna and Adele also feature among the top 15 most followed artists on the platform.
Arijit, who rose to prominence with his tracks such as Dil Sambhal Zara and Tum Hi Ho, has delivered innumerous soul-stirring hits. The 36-year-old singer was one of the most streamed Indian artists in 2020 and the most popular Asian soloist in 2021 on Spotify’s rankings.
The Murshidabad-born singer has recently delivered the romantic track Chaleya from the Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Jawan. Composed by Anirudh Ravichander and written by Kumaar, the song has garnered 34 million views on YouTube since its release on August 14.
Arijit has also sung the romantic number Tum Kya Mile, Ve Kamleya and the retro dance track What Jhumka in the Ranveer Singh-Alia Bhatt-starrer Rocky aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani.
