Sisters-turned-rivals Vi and Jinx engage in a final showdown following the latter’s attack on Piltover council in the teaser of Netflix’s Arcane Season 2, the last instalment of the steampunk animated series based on the League of Legends video game.

Dropped by the streamer on Tuesday, the one-minute-31-second-long teaser picks up after Jinx’s attack on Piltover council at the end of the first season. It begins with Vi mourning the complete destruction of her council, following which she vows to get revenge and accordingly builds a team. In another sequence, Vi breaks down and resolves to end the rivalry with her sister.

In a chilling turn of events, Vi finally comes across Jinx at the end of the teaser. What ensues is a climactic battle with Jinx wielding her gatling gun and Vi putting on her gauntlets.

The final season of Arcane is slated to hit Netflix in November.

“Arcane is just the beginning of our larger storytelling journey and partnership with the wonderful animation studio that is Fortiche,” Arcane co-creator Christian Linke said in a statement.

“From the very beginning, since we started working on this project, we had a very specific ending in mind, which means the story of Arcane wraps up with this second season. But Arcane is just the first of many stories that we want to tell in Runeterra,” he added.

While Ella Purnell has voiced Jinx in Arcane, Hailee Steinfeld has lent her voice to Vi. Apart from Jinx and Vi, Arcane also has the game characters Caitlyn (Elsa Davoine), Ekko (Reed Shannon), Jayce (Kevin Alejandro), Singed (Brett Tucker), Heimerdinger (Mick Wingert), and Viktor (Harry Lloyd).

Adapted from Riot Games’s MOBA game League of Legends, Arcane is created by animation studio Fortiche. In the series, characters like Vi, Jinx, Jayce and Viktor have been depicted with rich, detailed histories and emotional arcs that go beyond their in-game personas.

Since its release in 2009, League of Legends has become one of the most popular and influential games. Players assume the role of “champions” and engage in team-based combat with the goal of destroying the opposing team’s Nexus.
