Actress Anushka Sharma and her husband, cricketer Virat Kohli, offered prayers at the Baba Mahakaleshwar Temple in Ujjain on Saturday ahead of the fourth Test between India and Australia, to begin on March 9 in Ahmedabad.
Anushka, who plays cricketer Jhulan Goswami in her upcoming film Chakda ’Xpress, was seen taking part in the Bhasma Aarti ceremony early in the morning at the temple. The couple also performed Jalabhishek rituals together.
“We came here to offer prayers and had a good darshan at Mahakaleshwar temple,” Anushka told ANI.
Anushka and Virat, who had a daughter last year, have been on a travel spree to holy sites in India lately. The duo had recently travelled to the Swami Dayanand Giri Ashram in Rishikesh.
In a recent podcast for the Indian Premier League team Royal Challengers Bangalore, Kohli spoke about the sacrifices Anushka has made for their daughter Vamika.
He said, "The way things have been in the past two years, we have had our child and, as a mother, the sacrifices that she made have been massive. Looking at her, I realised whatever problems I had were nothing. As far as expectations are concerned, as long as your family loves you for who you are, you don’t expect much because that is the basic requirement."
Virat is currently gearing up for India’s fourth Test against Australia. Anushka, on the other hand, wrapped shooting for Chakda ’Xpress in December last year.
