“This victory is as much yours as it is mine” — cricketer Virat Kohli thanked his actress wife Anushka Sharma in response to her love note following India’s T20 World Cup win on Saturday in Barbados, where the Team India batter announced his retirement from the format.

"None of this would remotely be possible without you my love. You keep me humble, grounded and you always say it how it is with absolute honesty. I couldn’t be more grateful for you. This victory is as much yours as it’s mine. Thank you and I love you for being you," wrote the 35-year-old Instagram alongside a picture with Anushka on Sunday.

Virat scored a match-winning 76-run knock in the finals against South Africa which India won by seven runs.

Sharing a picture of Virat carrying the tricolour and the World Cup trophy on Saturday, Anushka wrote on Instagram, "AND …..I love this man @virat.kohli . So grateful to call you my home - now go have a glass of sparkling water for me to celebrate this."

Bollywood stars Priyanka Chopra, Suniel Shetty, Kajol and Bhumi Pednekar also reacted to Anushka’s post.

The thrilling final in Bridgetown, Barbados, marked the end of Virat's T20 international career, along with captain Rohit Sharma and Ravindra Jadeja. This victory came after more than a decade of heartbreaks in ICC World Cup knockout matches, including two at home in 2014 and 2023.

Anushka and Virat, who had first met on the set of an advertisement in 2013, tied the knot in Italy on December 11, 2017. They have two children — a daughter Vamika born on January 11, 2021 and a son Akaay, born on February 15 this year.

Anushka last appeared in Aanand L. Rai's 2018 film Zero alongside Shah Rukh Khan and Katrina Kaif.
