Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap has posted a tongue-in-cheek quip on social media about having to make a number of remakes to cover his daughter Aaliyah Kashyap’s wedding expenses after the latter got engaged to her longtime boyfriend Shane Gregoire.
The Gangs of Wasseypur director also posted a candid photo with his production house members at the Cannes Film Festival on Sunday. “@cinemakasam is pissed off saying , ‘yahan to phone chhod do!!’ . Unaware that I am calculating the number of remakes I will have to do to throw a wedding soirée, because my dearest @aaliyahkashyap and her beau, my lovely @shanegregoire threw a total curveball at us in the middle of our @festivaldecannes journey of #Kennedy by announcing their engagement.🥳🥳,” he wrote in the caption.
Anurag’s 22-year-old daughter, who is a YouTuber and social media influencer, announced her engagement to boyfriend Shane Gregoire on May 20 via an Instagram post. She was on a vacation to Bali, Indonesia, at the time of receiving the proposal.
Sharing a photo of herself with the ring, Aaliyah wrote, “soooooo THIS HAPPENED!!!!! to my best friend, my partner, my soulmate and now my FIANCÉ! You are the love of my life. Thank you for showing me what real & unconditional love feels like. Saying yes to you was the easiest thing I've ever done & I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with you, my love.”
