Veteran actor Anupam Kher celebrated his 65th birthday on March 7 in New York.
The talented actor kick started his new year with a luncheon with good friend Robert De Niro, it’s learnt.
De Niro and Kher share a special bond and sources said the duo seem to have made it a ritual to have lunch together every year.
Last year too, De Niro organised a lunch for Kher on his birthday and this year was no different.
Kher said: “This is the third year in a row that we have met over lunch for my birthday, it was gracious enough for De Niro to accept my lunch invitation. Nothing can be more magical for an actor than to be able to spend quality time on your birthday with the God of Acting.”
Talking about what other things he usually likes to do on his birthday, the actor said: “Usually, I spend the day with children affected with cancer. In India, I would visit an organisation for the blind.”
On the film front, after The Accidental Prime Minister, Kher will be seen working with Vivek Agnihotri on a film based on the victims of the Kashmir genocide.
