Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania
Marvel Studios have dropped the trailer for their upcoming film Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania, which will mark the beginning of the fifth phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The film stars Paul Rudd, Evangeline Lilly, Michael Douglas, Michelle Pfeiffer and Kathryn Newton in key roles.
In the two-minute-19-second-long trailer, Scott Lang (Rudd) and Hope (Lilly) dive into the quantum realm after his daughter Cassie (Newton) sets off the events in motion. The trailer also features Jonathan Majors’ Kang the Conqueror who was first introduced in the Marvel series Loki.
Ant-Man and the Wasp Quantumania releases in theatres on February 17.
1899
Streaming service Netflix has released an intriguing new trailer for 1899, a new series from Dark creators Baran Bo Odar And Jantje Friese. The eight-part series will feature Andres Pietschmann, Lucas Lyngaard, Miguel Bernardeau, Mathilde Ollivier, Aneurin Barnard and Emily Beecham among others.
The trailer of 1899 follows a group of European immigrants who, while travelling to New York, find a ship drifting in the middle of the ocean, which marks the start of their horror. The trailer is full of riddles, strange artefacts, symbols and gloomy cinematography.
1899 will be available to stream from November 17.
Varisu
Tamil star Vijay’s upcoming film Varisu will release in theatres around the Pongal festival in 2023, the makers of the film have announced. They also unveiled a new poster of Varisu in which we see Vijay emerging from a fight scene in a black outfit as bodies lay everywhere. The film is billed as a wholesome family entertainer.
The film is written and directed by Vamshi Paidipally and stars actress Rashmika Mandanna as the female lead. It also features Shaam, Yogi Babu, Sarathkumar, Prabhu, Prakash Raj and Jayasudha.
Idam Porul Yaeval
Tamil filmmaker Seenu Ramasamy’s much-talked-about political drama Idam Porul Yaeval’s trailer is out. The film stars Vijay Sethupathi and Vishnu Vishal alongside Aishwarya Rajesh and Nandita Swetha in the lead roles.
The one-minute-48-second-long trailer follows the lives of Pandi (Sethupathi) and Aasathambi (Vishnu) as they battle to emerge winners in the games of ‘money and life’. Set in a backdrop of political unrest, Idam Porul Yaeval is a story about love, life, ideologies and money.
Waltair Veerayya
Telugu star Chiranjeevi’s next film, which was so far referred to as Mega 154, has been titled Waltair Veerayya. The makers also released a short video teaser revealing the look of the actor in the film. It also stars Ravi Teja and Shruti Haasan in prominent roles.
The teaser packs the usual over-the-top heroism, which is typical of Chiranjeevi’s filmography. The video begins with a gang leader mocking Chiranjeevi over a phone call for not showing up for a deal and before he could finish his sentence, he is thrown over by a huge explosion as a biri-smoking, lungi-draping Chiranjeevi shows up. His introduction shot is an elaborate reverse shot that shows him as the mastermind of the blast.
