Actor Anshuman Jha has donned the director’s hat for the upcoming Rasika Dugal and Arjun Mathur-starrer Lord Curzon Ki Haveli, a film being shot entirely on a single lens (35mm) camera.
“While I had lens options at my disposal, I purposely chose a single lens narrative as a single lens film has a subconscious viewing effect. I wanted it to be as close to the human vision as possible — that 35mm gave me, consistently. Lord Curzon Ki Haveli is a contemporary homage to my favorite filmmaker Alfred Hitchcock and his classic film The Rope,” said the actor-turned-director.
Award-winning writer Bikas Mishra, who has penned the script for Lord Curzon Ki Haveli, said that Anshuman had decided on the writing table itself that he will shoot the film on a single lens.
The two cinematographers on Anshuman's debut directorial — French DOP Jean Marc Selva & Indian DOP Ramanuj Dutta — have called it a “brave move” by the debutante filmmaker.
“As a director, Anshuman had a very clear vision on the film, not being afraid of taking risks,” said Selva.
Besides the lead stars Arjun and Rasika, Marvel actress Zoha Rahman, Paresh Pahuja, Tanmay Dhanania and Star Wars actor Garrick Hagon will feature in Lord Curzon Ki Haveli.
