Popular television actress Ankita Lokhande has recreated the iconic opening scene featuring Tulsi Virani, the character played by Smriti Irani, from the 2008 superhit Ekta Kapoor show Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi.
Ankita and her husband Vicky Jain, a businessman, recently moved to a new, palatial house. At their housewarming ceremony, Ankita reprised the opening scene set to the original track Rishton ke bhi roop badalte hain, sung by Priya Bhattacharya. Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi is one of the longest-running daily shows in India.
In the original, protagonist Tulsi, a daughter-in-law, welcomes the audience into her home and introduces the family members. Taking a cue, Ankita has shot a video and dedicated it to the show’s producer Ekta Kapoor and former actress Smriti Irani, the Union Minister of Women and Child Development.
While offering a tour of her new home, Ankita introduces her father-in-law, mother-in-law, brother-in-law, sister-in-law and husband. Ankita got married to long-time boyfriend Vicky Jain in December 2021 and the couple recently won a reality show, Smart Jodi. The duo are frequently spotted at film events and parties.
“Archana Deshmukh X Tulsi Virani. I had super fun recreating this video with my family at our housewarming puja. This one for you Ekta Kapoor and Smriti Irani ma'am, Tulsi will be in our hearts forever. Hope you both love this,” Ankita wrote on Instagram. Ankita’s Archana from Pavitra Rishta is a household name in the country.
Ankita’s video garnered a lot of love from her fans and the TV industry people. It was a moment of nostalgia for both the makers and fans of the show.
