Anjan Dutt’s Chaalchitra Ekhon is set to grace both the silver screen and Hoichoi on May 10. Chaalchitra Ekhon delves deep into the genesis of Mrinal Sen’s masterpiece, Chalchitra. This one-of-a-kind film, a tribute to Mrinal Sen, is set to release in select theatres such as Nandan and Radha Studio to give audiences a big screen experience and simultaneously, digitally on Hoichoi. Honoured with accolades such as the Special Jury Award at KIFF for “Innovation in Moving Images” and the Best Actor Award for Anjan Dutt at the Dhaka International Film Festival, Chaalchitra Ekhon has already left an indelible mark.

Stepping into the shoes of director Mrinal Sen, Anjan Dutt delivers a stellar performance, while debutant Sawon Chakraborty breathes life into the character of young Anjan Dutt, playing Ranjan Dutt. Bidipta Chakraborty plays the director’s wife, adding depth to the narrative.
“Mrinal Sen’s impact on Indian cinema is immeasurable; he didn’t just make films, he reshaped narratives, challenged conventions, and inspired generations of filmmakers. Chaalchitra Ekhon not only pays homage to Sen’s cinematic brilliance but also seeks to ignite a new wave of appreciation for his enduring legacy,” said Anjan.
