Anime series Jujutsu Kaisen’s Hidden Inventory arc from Season 2 is set to release as a movie in theatres worldwide next year, the official X page of the show announced on Sunday alongside a poster.
The poster features young Satoru Gojo and Suguru Geto from their days at Tokyo Metropolitan Curse Technical School. It also features their friend Shoko Ieiri. Scenes showing Geto after he took to dark sorcery, leaving Gojo in shock appear on the poster.
The first part of Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 covered the Hidden Inventory/Premature Death arc, which followed young Gojo and Geto, once best friends, on a mission to escort Rika Amnai to Master Tengen so she can become the next Star Plasma Vessel. It also introduced the character of Toji Fushiguro, who played a major role in Gojo’s growth as a sorcerer and Geto’s spiralling into darkness.
Recently, it was announced that the manga written by Gege Akutami will be completed in the next five chapters. “5 more chapters until completion. Jujutsu Kaisen will reach its final chapter in issue 44 of Weekly Shonen Jump, which will be released on Monday, September 30th. Please continue to support us until the final episode, episode 271,” the publishing team of the manga wrote on X.
Jujutsu Kaisen revolves around Yuji Itadori, a high school student who gets entangled in a world of cursed spirits and sorcerers after becoming the host for the ‘king of curses’ Sukuna while trying to save his classmate. The second season, which covered the story’s Shibuya arc, was one of the most anticipated anime sequels of 2023.
In December last year, the series was renewed for a third season covering the Culling Game arc. Showcasing some animated panels from the manga, the teaser shared by the makers hinted that the upcoming arc will see Yuji and his fellow Jujutsu sorcerers entangled in a sinister battle royale-esque competition orchestrated by Noritoshi Kamo.
Jujutsu Kaisen has also recently secured a spot in next year’s Guinness World Records as the most in-demand animated TV show in the world. Animated by MAPPA, the show has surpassed popular series like Attack on Titan and One Piece.
