Actor Anil Kapoor’s name recently appeared as a clue in the New York Times crossword puzzle, which a US-based fan from Silicon Valley shared on Twitter. “Kapoor of Slumdog Millionaire” the clue read.
“When your name is part of a crossword puzzle in a foreign country, you have arrived! @AnilKapoor, this is a crossword puzzle in USA,” he wrote, to which Kapoor replied, “Thank you 🙏".
Kapoor also shared the crossword puzzle on his Instagram stories. “In the NY Times Crossword Puzzle today!” he wrote.
Anil Kapoor plays Prem Kumar, the celebrity host of the game show Kaun Banega Crorepati? in Danny Boyle’s 2008 drama Slumdog Millionaire. The film is based on the journey of a teenager from the slums of Mumbai who wins the game show Kaun Banega Crorepati?.
Slumdog Millionaire won eight Oscars at the 81st Academy Awards, including Best Original Song and Best Original Score, for which A.R. Rahman bagged two trophies. Kapoor had walked the red carpet along with the rest of the cast and crew for the ceremony that year.
Kapoor has been basking in glory of late for his performance as Shailendra Rungta in the Disney+ Hotstar series The Night Manager.
