Actor Anil Kapoor on Wednesday shared some stills from his 1985 film Yudh on social media and fondly recalled his famous dialogue ek dum jhakaas, which went on to become an iconic phrase among the youth.
The 66-year-old actor posted a frame of himself from the Rajiv Rai directorial along with a long note on his Instagram story to celebrate 38 years of the film. “Yudh really was a gift that hasn’t stopped giving,” he wrote.
Paying tribute to his co-stars and producer, Anil reminisced about his time working for the film. “38 years of #Yudh and 38 years since #Jhakassss came into our lives and never left. I always remember #Yudh very fondly for so many reasons! Working with the producer Gulshan Rai and his son Rajiv was a pleasure, Tina Munim was a fabulous costar and Jackie was, as always, a blast,” he mentioned.
“I also loved working with Nutanji because she was always so warm and caring, she reminded me of my own mother… Plus, who can forget a dream chance to dance with the one and only Hemaji! Yudh really was a gift that hasn’t stopped giving,” his note ended.
Anil played a double role — twin brothers Avinash and Junior — in the action thriller produced by Gulshan Rai. Jackie Shroff played the role of police inspector Vikram, who is brought up by Nutan’s Savitri Devi after her twin sons are taken from her.
Yudh marked the directorial debut of Rajiv Rai. The film also starred Tina Munim, Danny Denzongpa and Shatrughan Sinha along with a cameo by Hema Malini.
