Andrew Garfield, famous for being SpiderMan, is set to star in the limited series Hot Air as the famous British entrepreneur Richard Branson, according to Deadline. The news comes after the 38-year-old just landed his first Emmy nomination for the FX limited series Under the Banner of Heaven.

Hot Air will be made by Universal International Studios, with Deadpool 2 helmer David Leitch slated to direct. The six-part series is scripted by Paddington 2 writer Jon Croker.

Hot Air is based on the book Dirty Tricks: British Airways’ Secret War Against Virgin Atlantic by award-winning investigative journalist Martyn Gregory. It tells the story of billionaire Branson and the fascinating, outrageous rise of Virgin Airways, and the campaign by British Airways to bring it down.

Branson sued British Airways for their “dirty tactics” and the latter had to apologise to the aviation pioneer and pay damages as well as legal expenses.

Garfield recently pulled off the rare feat of landing an Oscar nomination for portraying American composer Jonathan Larson in tick, tick… BOOM! and an Emmy nod for the FX limited series Under the Banner of Heaven in the same year.

The Silence actor also recently reprised his Spider-Man role in the latest instalment of the franchise, Spider-Man: No Way Home, apart from starring in The Eyes Of Tammy Faye, which earned Jessica Chastain the Academy Award for best actress.

Leitch, who produced and co-directed John Wick, also directed Atomic Blonde and Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw. He most recently directed and produced the upcoming film Bullet Train, starring Brad Pitt, Sandra Bullock and Joey King.
