Actress Ananya Panday wore her mother Bhavana Pandey’s 21-year-old suit designed by the late couturier Rohit Bal to a friend’s wedding recently, she said in an Instagram post on Thursday, dropping photos from the event.
"Bride @deeyashroff—obsessed with my sister getting married but also not ready to let go of her yet...but very excited to have a brother now @mihirmadhvani. Also wearing my mom's @rohitbalofficial from 21 years ago. Gudda forever," she wrote on Instagram, congratulating the newlyweds and honouring the iconic designer, who passed away on November 1 in Delhi.
The photos show Ananya looking gorgeous in a turquoise suit with intricate sequin detailing. The actress wore hair down and opted for a bindi and danglers to complement her ensemble. Subtle makeup helped balance Ananya’s look.
The wedding took place on a skyscraper balcony overlooking a bustling street. While the bride dazzled in a pink lehenga at the ceremony, the groom was nattily dressed in a beige sherwani.
Ananya’s outfit, which originally belonged to her mother, was designed by couturier Rohit Bal 21 years ago. Rohit passed away on November 1 at a south Delhi hospital following a heart attack. He was 63 at the time of his death.
On the work front, Ananya recently appeared in Vikramaditya Motwane's Netflix cyber-thriller CTRL alongside Vihaan Samat. She also starred in Amazon Prime Video’s Call Me Bae, produced by Dharmatic Entertainment. The 26-year-old actress is set to headline a Dharma Productions-backed romance film, Chand Mera Dil, opposite Kill star Lakshya. According to media reports, Ananya has the biographical drama Shankara in the pipeline, where she will share screen space with Akshay Kumar.
