Shanaya Kapoor, Suhana Khan, Tamannaah Bhatia and Sara Ali Khan were among the Bollywood celebrities who attended the screening of Ananya Panday’s upcoming Prime Video series Call Me Bae ahead of its September 6 premiere. Here’s a look at some of the moments from the event held on Wednesday in Mumbai.
Ananya looked stunning in a strapless green bodycon dress, paired with strappy stilettos. In the upcoming series, the actress essays the role of Bae, a rich and privileged South Delhi girl who tries to adapt to middle-class life in Mumbai after being disowned by her billionaire family.
Vihaan Samat, who plays Bae’s husband in the web series, looked dapper in a crisp double-breasted suit. He is known for shows like Eternally Confused and Eager for Love (2022) and Mismatched (2020). The actor will also star alongside Ananya in Vikramaditya Motwane's upcoming cyber thriller CTRL.
Ananya’s childhood friends, Shanaya and Suhana, were also present to cheer her on. While Shanaya sported a black-and-white striped co-ord set, Suhana looked gorgeous in a white gown adorned with a red floral print.
The upcoming series is produced by Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta and Somen Mishra under the banner of Dharmatic Entertainment. Karan sported a quirky white shirt with a red-lips print at the event. Black trousers and matching moccasins rounded off his look.
Varun Dhawan’s niece Anjini Dhawan, who is all set to make her Bollywood debut with the coming-of-age drama Binny And Family, dazzled in a bright yellow column gown at the screening of the series on Wednesday.
Tamannaah sported a classic all-black look, pairing a top with pleated palazzos and boots. A pale blue clutch added a pop of colour to her outfit, while gold accessories and luminous makeup enhanced her glamour quotient.
Kartik Aaryan posed with Ananya for the lens. He opted for a casual outfit—a grey sweatshirt paired with denim and sneakers. The actor will soon be seen in Anees Bazmee’s Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 alongside Triptii Dimri and Vidya Balan.
Kartik’s Love Aaj Kal co-star Sara Ali Khan stole the show in a denim jumpsuit. The actress is currently working on Anurag Basu’s film Metro… In Dino, a sequel to the 2007 film Life in a… Metro.
Rumoured couple Khushi Kapoor and Vedang Raina also turned heads at the event. While Khushi opted for a brown shirt tucked into her blue denim, Vedang wore a black shirt over his black trousers. Both Khushi and Vedang made their acting debut last year in Zoya Akhtar’s Netflix film The Archies.
Actress Shweta Tiwari was accompanied by her daughter Palak Tiwari to the event. Much like Sara, Palak slayed in a denim jumpsuit, which formed a pleasant contrast to her mum’s all-white ensemble.
Cocktail actress Diana Penty exuded boss lady vibes in a beige co-ord set. She has Shabbir Khan's Adbhut and Ribhu Dasgupta’s Section 84 in the pipeline.
Urvashi Rautela and Radhika Madan aced the monochrome look. Radhika rocked a white shirt paired with a fringed black mini skirt. Urvashi’s blazer dress, paired with black stockings and sparkly stilettos, also made for a winning look.
Ananya’s parents Chunky Panday and Bhavana Pandey twinned in black sweatshirts featuring Ananya’s character, Bae, from the upcoming show. Vir Das, Muskkaan Jaferi and Niharika Lyra Dutt also star in the show.
Internet personalities Orhan Awatramani “Orry” and Uorfi Javed also attended the event. Uorfi’s unscripted reality series Follow Kar Lo Yaar is currently streaming on Prime Video. Meanwhile, Orry recently joined Karan Johar’s Dharma Cornerstone Agency, a talent management agency launched in December 2020.
