The face of House of Lakme, actor Ananya Panday — fresh from the plaudits for her December film Kho Gaye Hum Kahan — takes a few questions from t2 on skincare must-dos and more.
You have flawless skin. What are the basics that you follow that form a part of your everyday routine?
I use serum, Vitamin C, moisturiser, rose water, face wash, lip balm and sunscreen, most importantly. My favourite new range that I swear by is the House of Lakme Glycolic Illuminate Range. It is a great ingredient because it hydrates, adds suppleness, gives a luxurious feel and brings radiance to the skin.
Though Mumbai doesn't experience the kind of winter that some other parts of the country do, is there a specific winter skin and haircare regimen that you follow?
I use a thicker moisturiser during winter, and also at night so that it kind of repairs my skin when I sleep. I feel like I should be doing more for my hair. I don't do anything, but a champi is fun.
What has the journey with Lakme been like so far and how would you say that brand Ananya Panday and brand Lakme are a perfect fit?
Even though we have a working relationship with the brand, my journey with the House of Lakme feels like family because I started with them even before I debuted in my first film. I had shot an ad with Lakme. I have grown so much with them over the years, and they have grown so much as a brand as well.
They are constantly introducing innovative products. They are all about self-expression and being unique, and that is something that I stand for as well. They always make me feel my most beautiful and confident self by being myself, which I think is great.
We all have grown up seeing our moms use Lakme products. Do you have any abiding memories of the brand from your childhood or teenage years?
I remember my mum using the Lakme Iconic Kajal and my naani used to use it as well and that's something that's always in my make-up kit no matter where I go. The Iconic Kajal is iconic in my memories.
Congratulations on the high praise for your recent release Kho Gaye Hum Kahan. If you could use a sentence to sum up the journey you have had so far as an actor, what would it be?
There is a line that my character Ahana says in Kho Gaye Hum Kahan, during the resolutions (scene) at the end. She says that be grateful every day, and say thank you "zor se, poore dil se". That is something I try to follow every day.
