Veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan has started shooting for the 16th season of the popular television quiz show Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC), he said in a blog post on Tumblr, sharing fresh behind-the-scenes pictures of himself from the set of the show on Wednesday.
“The new season is about to start,” wrote the 81-year-old alongside photos that show him stepping out of a car and entering the set of Sony Television’s long-running quiz show.
In his post, Bachchan talked about the “non-stop” shooting schedule of the show and how he had lunch in his car before he headed to a stadium to watch an IPL match.
“A nonstop schedule beginning at 9 and worked till 5 without the traditional break, done it driven off, and lunched in car that rolled appropriate eat and that consumption drink...and back in the love of the game at IPL, as exciting as all the others that are unfolding before us this season,” wrote Bachchan.
The Bollywood veteran had previously shared a teaser video of the new season of Kaun Banega Crorepati, announcing that the registrations for the show’s 16th edition will start from April 26.
“Once again, I get the opportunity to wish you all good night from the set of KBC,” Amitabh had captioned the video on Instagram.
Bachchan has hosted KBC since it started in 2000, except for the third season in 2007, which was hosted by Shah Rukh Khan.
On Wednesday’s blog, Bachchan went on to reflect on his unwavering interest in the game of cricket. He recalled the old days when people used to gather around a local pan shop to listen to cricket commentary on transistors.
Even though there are several ways to watch modern-day cricket, nothing can replace the experience of watching a game in a stadium, he said.
“Ladies and Gentlemen of the Jury the experience of a Stadium is simply incomparable. It beckons all, to come and explore the opportunity of a winning...Must to bed...to bed... to bed,” he signed off.
Kaun Banega Crorepati Season 16 will air on Sony Entertainment Television and be available to stream on SonyLIV app. The premiere date of the show is yet to be announced.
Bachchan will next be seen in filmmaker Nag Ashwin’s epic science-fiction dystopian film Kalki 2898 AD alongside Prabhas, Kamal Haasan, Deepika Padukone and Disha Patani. The actor is also poised to make his Tamil film debut with Vettaiyan opposite superstar Rajinikanth.
