Amar mon maney na stands as more than just a musical production. It is a brave step toward raising awareness, sparking conversations, and offering hope to many. At the heart of the music video of Amar mon maney na is the story of Uma, a young woman forced into a marriage with Girish, a much older man, by her family. Life in the grandeur of a rich zamindar household, however, proves anything but glamorous for Uma, as she silently endures the abuses of her violent husband. The plot takes an emotional turn when Dhiren, Girish’s younger brother and Uma’s childhood friend, returns after years of studying abroad.
In a twist that feels both tender and tragic, Dhiren initially fails to recognise Uma until a cherished memento stirs memories of their past friendship. What starts as a reunion of hearts is soon torn apart by jealousy and rumour. False accusations of an affair, spread by Uma’s envious sister-in-law, fuel Girish’s violent rage, leading to Dhiren’s imprisonment and further torment for Uma.
“The music production is rich and globally influenced, with a profound depth that I loved. When SVF Music approached me to discuss the concept, I was overwhelmed by its depth and relevance to the song, and I could vividly envision the conceptualisation and visualisation, which excited me. I find fulfilment in my work, and I am driven by the desire to create meaningful content. This project felt personal to me, and I wanted to undertake it for my own growth. After a challenging process of scheduling dates, I feel honoured to be part of such an important project. I believe the audience will love this song, as the video complements it beautifully. This endeavour has been bold, and the conceptualisation is remarkable. I was eager to be involved, especially after hearing the concept,” said Gourab Chatterjee.
“This is my first collaboration with SVF, and it feels truly special. The entire project is close to my heart, and it stands out as one of my favourite works to date. The SVF Music team has been an absolute joy to work with — they are incredibly supportive and encouraging. What attracted me even more was how deeply invested everyone was in making this project exceptional. Working with Gourabda has been amazing, as always he’s simply brilliant. The concept behind this project isn’t just another music video; it tackles multiple important social issues, offering more than just entertainment, it conveys a powerful message. It highlights stories of people we may not personally know, but whose struggles we witness every day, even in 2024. It addresses issues that remain deeply relevant. I believe SVF Music has taken a brave step, especially during Pujo, when we typically see cheerful content. This project is truly unique, and I feel honoured to be part of something that carries such a strong social message,” said Sreeja Dutta.
The song is available on SVF Music Youtube channel and other audio platforms.
