Debutant Karan Mehta, who looked dapper in a black suit at the Marrakech International Film Festival in Morocco, has been drawing attention on social media. The actor, in his early twenties, stars alongside Alaya F in Anurag Kashyap’s romantic drama Almost Pyaar with DJ Mohabbat, which premiered at the film festival.

Beyond good looks and enviable fashion sense, Karan is a Bollywood fan at heart.

Born to Punjabi filmmaker Rakesh Mehta, known for films like Khuda Kushi, Ik Sandhu Hunda Si, Yaara Ve, Karan is much more than what meets the eye.

Karan is best friends with two star kids —Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan and Ananya Panday’s cousin Ahaan Panday. The trio are very close and often hang out in social events together.

His love for Bollywood in general and Shah Rukh in particular is quite evident in his social media posts. At the Marrakech International Film Festival, Karan and Anurag bowed down to a portrait of Shah Rukh to seek his blessings before the release of the film.

A picture from November 2018 showed Karan and his friend Arjun Chibba posing with Shah Rukh and Salman Khan. “Karan Arjun with Karan Arjun,” he wrote, referencing the Salman-Shah Rukh-starrer 1995 film Karan Arjun.

Karan is also a football fan and a Real Madrid supporter. The actor had his own customised Real Madrid jersey with Portuguese footballer Cristiano Ronaldo’s jersey number on it.

Karan has his style game on point. The actor also knows how to pose for photoshoots.

Riding a horse comes easy to Karan. “Meet the Kareena of my life,” he wrote, sharing a picture of himself riding a horse.
