Stranger Things helmer Shawn Levy takes us to Nazi-occupied France to bring forth stories of human connections against the backdrop of World War II in the teaser of Mark Ruffolo and Hugh Laurie-starrer war-drama series All the Light We Cannot See.
The two-minute-37-second-long teaser, dropped on Tuesday, narrates the story of a blind French girl, Marie-Laure Leblanc, and a German boy Werner Pfennig. Marie-Laure takes refuge with her uncle during World War II in the French coastal town of Saint-Malo after her father is detained by the Gestapo. On the other hand, Werner, an expert in radio repair, is forced to join the Nazi military school and subsequently the military.
Through a shared secret connection via the radio, Marie-Laure and Werner find faith in humanity and the possibility of hope during the battle of Saint-Malo. The no-dialogue clip also shows the destruction caused by war and its toll on humans.
