Alia Bhatt dropped pictures with co-star Vedang Raina on Thursday to announce the completion of filming for Vasan Bala’s upcoming thriller Jigra, slated to hit the theatres on September 27.

“Jigra oh… abki teri baari ho @vedangraina & that’s a film wrap on #JIGRA,” the actress captioned her Instagram post on Thursday.

Vedang made his acting debut with Zoya Akhtar’s Netflix film Archies last year. The carousel shared by Alia contains a couple of candid shots in which Vedang covers his face, while Alia sports a smile. One of the pictures shows the actress embracing Vedang. Buildings lining the banks of a water body appear in the background. Both Alia and Vedang are seen in casual outfits — oversized white t-shirts paired with black trousers. The Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani actress also flaunts her bob hairstyle.

The same pictures were also shared by Vedang and the production house Dharma Productions.

The makers first announced Jigra in September last year. The teaser video revealed that the storyline would follow a sister’s courageous attempts to protect her brother at all costs.

In addition to starring in the film, Alia will also be producing it via her own production company Eternal Sunshine, which she launched in early 2019.

Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta and Somen Mishra will also serve as the producers.

Penned by Debashish Irengbam, Jigra will also feature Kho Gaye Hum Kahan actor Aditya Nanda in a key role.
