Alia Bhatt will be putting her stunning saris from Karan Johar’s Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani on sale as part of the thirteenth edition of her wardrobe-sharing initiative, MiSu, with fashion designer Manish Malhotra, the actress shared on Instagram.
“There’s been so much love for my saris in Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani that Manish and I have been working closely together to ensure that all the saris that I have worn while promoting the film, reach you, my dear Ranis,” her post read. The collection will be live from August 11 on the official website of Manish Malhotra, who has designed Alia’s costumes in Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani.
In the film directed by Karan Johar co-starring Ranveer Singh, Alia, who plays the TV news anchor Rani Chatterjee, is seen sporting a range of colourful chiffon saris with bralette-style blouses.
MiSu represents fashion for a cause, where items are handpicked for sale and the profits are directed towards various charitable organisations in the country. However, the broader aim is to raise awareness about recycling or upcycling clothes for environmental conservation.
“All for a good cause,” Alia said about the initiative. Continuing her ongoing efforts to promote reusing and recycling of garments, the actress pointed out that all proceeds from the sale will go towards the welfare of underprivileged women and children through the SNEHA charitable trust, which offers services in Bengaluru, Mangaluru, Secunderabad, Kerala and Tamil Nadu.
